Thanks so much, to the person that put all of this together. I have recently gotten in touch with several people, from SHS and Myers Junior High, through Facebook. Everyone seems to have turned out very well. Those of us that have survived and communicated with me, at least! I missed a lot, due to expulsion for dress code violations from the 11th grade, but have enjoyed visiting and looking at some pictures and having great memories. I would encourage all of you, with a computer, to get on Facebook or at least get in touch via email. Those were some exciting times, musically and socially and it's very cool to see how everyone turned out.

Hi,
I graduated in '65 and want to say how great it is that you have a web site. I wish our class had one. Seems the Class of '65 has not been the best at keeping our past alive. Great site and keep it up!

I am so glad Rebecca called and gave me the address to this website. I have so enjoyed looking at all the photos and seeing people I thought I had forgotten. Nice to know my memory isn't as bad as I thought. lol It is so nice to go back in time to the good ole days at SHS. So thank you Rebecca.

I've been married almost 40 years [to the same man], have 3 kids, and 11 grandkids. A few years ago me and 2 friends [also SHS alumni] went back to SHS for a visit. The Pricipal was nice enough to let us walk around [with visitor passes of course]. I can tell you that was an emotional experience, and a good one. Hey to everyone and hope life has been good to all!!!

It's great to see all these names on the list...MEMORIES galore. I left Savannah in '72 to go back to my home town, St. Simons Island and worked for AirSouth, moved to Greenville SC in'81 and have been here ever since, off and on. Got married(2nd)in June '97 and moved to PHX, then in 2000 moved to New Zealand for 3 years.Back in SC in 2003.

My passion is animals...rescuing,etc. No children(3 steps),4 dogs 2 cats and a fish named JOHN LENNON. If anybody knows where teacher, Kay Carter, is, I'd love to get in touch with her. She was my homeroom teacher, senior year. Cary Shoob, I have great memories of chorus class, Loren Lewis & John Miller, math class and I'm trying to find my 1970 annual to conjure up some more memories. Love to all.

Hey everybody! Just came upon this website, and it was a nice surprise! I attended one and only one SHS reunion a few years ago, and was so nice to soak a bit in nostalgia (not having lived in Savannah since 1970!) and to reconnect with some old friends and acquaintances. Not sure which year that was -- was it 2005?? Cary Shoob, if you are reading this, let me know! If anybody living in Atl would like to get in touch, let me know! Take care everybody--Shelley

Hey Guys, Absolutely the best reunion I have been to. Great job by the committee. I personally appreciate all the hard work that you put into it. I enjoyed all of it, but Friday night was outstanding. Gave us a chance to socialize and catch up on old times. Special thanks to Ricky. We have talked and think we could do some informal gathering annually around the holidays. What do yall think?
A cook-out or oyster roast at the Farm would be nice. Great seeing everyone and look forward to the next time. Sunday morning was special. Hard to see family that had gone, but great to see them remembered.
Thanks to Mark for his organization and Cary for all his hard work on NO sleep. See yall soon.

Wow! I'm so impressed with your web site. It has been a journey down memory lane, especially with the oldies playing in the background. I'm from the class of '71 and Tommy Bordeaux had told me of your reunion but I couldn't work it out to be there. I would have especially liked to see Gottlieb and Wexler. Maybe some of you will attend our 35th next summer. I can't wait to see my fellow classmates! Got together with Glenn Arnsdorff, Robbie Bolling,Tommy Bordeaux,(I am positive he is the oldest with the youngest children.)and Debra Ricks for our 50th bdays in Sav. two summers ago.(except TB)He's still old! Thanks for your hard work in getting this together! (I'll be in Sav. in July sometime.)

Job well done! My expectations were exceeded with each and every event of the reunion. It took a tremendous amount of time, energy, dedication and enthusiasm to make the SHS class of 1970 35th reunion a reality! My heartfelt thanks to each and everyone who had a part in the success. If you were one of the individuals whose names were inadvertenly omitted for thanks and recognition during the reunion events please find it in your heart to forgive us. This was a tremendous undertaking and we have learned from our mistakes. Our next reunion can't help but be even more successful! Thanks again and I truly love you all for the dedication and energy expended on this 2005 reunion.
Fondly,

The work is almost finished and the time is nigh! We will have a wonderful dvd presentation made by Cary Shoob, and will receive elegant lowball glassware to take home with us (thanks to Lois)! The Programme Committee has sent the Programme to the printer, and it will contain names, addresses and phone numbers of all persons we could locate. You will get one to take home with you! I can not tell you how hard your reunion committee worked, and special gratitude goes to Becky Jordan Starling, Lois Shinall, John Miller, Cary Shoob, Janet Torrance, Tommy "Boomer" Boondry, Betsy Cook West, Mark Thomas, Ted Kolgaklis, and others! Our's is not to wonder why: our's is just to do or .....party! See ya at the reunion with your beach music hats on! I love every damn one of you guys! We are still Number ONE! Makin' HUGE strides to the goal line!

Looks like I will be able to make the reunion after all and I am rather excited about the event. Finally got around to viewing the info on the web site. I would like to thank the reunion planning committe for all the hard work making the event happen. You deserve a big round of applause. I was unable to open the time capsule???? Any possiblity of finding those in the senior class now residing in the Atlanta metro area? I have seen Linda Collins at Costco several times and run into Eslyn Bannett at a few parties. Her sister is married to a friend. Thanks again you hard workers.

I'm so glad to have found out about this reunion for the class of '70. I would have graduated from S.H.S. in '71 but was bused to another school, but my blood has always been "BLUE & WHITE". I'm looking forward to seeing friends that I spend some of the greatest days of my life with. (hope you SENIORS don't mind a few juniors crashing the party). I can't wait. GREAT WEB SITE! GO BLUE JACKETS!

Saw the reunion notice in SMN, had to check out the site. It's GREAT! Was wonderful to see so many people I was friends with, so many years ago. I never made it to any of the '69 reunions, always had conflicts. Was only at SHS two years, '67-'69, but those definitely were the absolute BEST years of my life!! I still can't believe so much water has gone under the bridge.... We really did have a very special group of people there back then. Life has been full of surprises. I will never forget you.

Great website. It brought back many good memories.
After leaving Savannah High I served as Principal at Chatham Jr. High and H.V. Jenkins High School. I then returned to my home town and worked with Dalton Public Schools until I retired in 2002. I spent 40 years in education and I am still teaching part time with Whitfield County Schools. At Dalton High I coached Basketball and was Athletic Director at the time of my retirement.

How exciting to hear from my favorite class. You were an exemplary class with many, many outstanding individuals. I have kept up with a number of you through the years. Mr. Jordan and I are now retired and spend much of our time at our country house in Bulloch County. I travel a great deal and continue to read and study. I have participated the last two summers in programs at Oxford University in the U.K. Learning is truly a life long endeavor. I am still in touch with a few of the "old" faculty members: Mr. Brunner, Miss Kennedy, and Mr. Riner. We reminisce about the "good ole days" at SHS. The 1970 yearbook was dedicated to Mr. Jordan and me, so that will always be a special year for us. Thanks to Becky Jordan for calling to tell me about your website and the class reunion in June. Best wishes to all of you. Love, Shirley Jordan

WOW - SHS! Never thought I'd hear from SHS again, but GREAT to have opportunity to reconnect with some people from way back when. Have lived all over (15 places plus, including out of US!)since HS graduation, but now living back in Atlanta. Visit Mom in Savannah, and would love to say hi to people -- even though my memory can tend to be spotty, LOL! Ex-Foreign Service Officer, long-time married, recently separated, 3 kids all teens; last 5 years have been teaching ESOL in Atlanta public schools & lovin' it. Hope I can make it to reunion, would be fun -- but even if not, if you remember me, say hi!

This will be the "GREATEST" reunion! What would thrill me would be to see everybody we went to school with..our doors should always be open to everyone. I miss that time when everything was so innocent and we had all the answers to all of the world's problems. Little did we know then! All of my friends from our old neighborhood of Avondale should be there...all for one and one for all!!! Who loved the park as much as I did? Come on and join the best group ever at the SHS1970 class reunion.

Valerie's photo has been removed from Debra Metts' location on Page 213. It has been replaced with a photo sent by Debra so that the page is now correct!

Debra, we are planning to extract each individual yearbook photo and couple it with the correct name. Then we be able to add more additional photos for each student as they are made available. Thank you for letting us know about the error made with your yearbook photo. We will certainly be sure to post the right photos of you in the future.
